Up and Down Again

Looking good now but this is what it looked like in January The house is now back to normal the builders completing their work on the 5th September. So here are a few before and after pictures. First the bathroom and below the kitchen. Kitchen after flood Kitchen Restored It is nice to be back to a normal life.

Unfortunately two days after we moved back my mother died so our happiness was very short lived. Mum was 93 and had been able to live in her own house until last autumn. Which was good because she valued her independance highly. Her decline was fairly rapid she died very peacefully in a care home with my sister present. For me the biggest shock was at her funeral when I stood up to say a few words about her and the church was so full they were standing in the aisles. It made me pround to be the son of someone who made a mark on so many peoples lives. Below is a picture of her reciting a poem in Scots dialect at her 90 birthday.
